Yellen: Risks that caused financial crisis remain

 

The US financial system is safer than it was before the financial crisis but this is no time to become complacent about protecting the system's stability, Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen said at the central bank's annual conference in Jackson Hole, Wyo. She warned of "the all-too-familiar risks of excessive optimism, leverage and maturity transformation re-emerging in new ways that require policy responses."
