Job Title: Brokers Central – External Wholesaler | Location: 400 Rella Blvd Montebello, NY 10901

Job Description:

The External Wholesaler's primary function is to drive sales and build strong relationships with producers to generate revenue and meet sales quotas. The External Wholesaler proactively calls, meets agents and recruits new agents to build a book of business. This position ensures constant communication with all members of the team as well as with the producers working to develop strong relationships and promoting agent recruiting and retention through sales ideas, marketing campaigns, illustrations and effective management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business by recruiting new agentsSuccessfully build relationships with key producers to discuss basic and advanced sales concepts, marketing campaigns, and product information
  • Maintain and grow an individual sales revenue goal or enhanced team sales goal
  • Maintain a proactive and supportive relationship with the agents, sales, and administrative teams
  • Execute local marketing efforts and communications
  • Maintain a working knowledge of pending priority cases and be able to close those cases as necessary. Develop expert knowledge of products, and carriers resources
  • Coordinate with team and producers to run illustrations and suggest and implement creative solutions

  • Ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to use advanced judgment in problem solving.
  • Detail oriented, take-charge person with excellent relationship building skills and strong technical (computer) skills
  • Well-developed life insurance product knowledge
  • 5 years+ work experience in the life insurance industry with 3 years work experience in sales support
  • Understanding of sales concepts, corresponding illustrations, the underwriting process and knowledgeable with commissions
  • Experience with PC's in a Windows environment
  • Intermediate level skill in use of Microsoft Word and Excel applications and working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Experience with database management.
  • State Insurance Licenses
